“Before I even begin this review, I just want to make it clear that I’ve sat on the idea of whether or not to even write this review for months. We chose Winter & Duffy after doing a good amount of research on local divorce attorneys and asking around. We had never gone through something like this before and trusted that a well renowned law firm with highly regarded attorneys would pay off in the end. In my own naivety, I felt that every lawyer/attorney at a high regarded law firm would be top tier. This was anything but the truth in my case. Alex Felt was hired as my attorney and I couldn’t be more disappointed. At a time in my life where I needed all of the help and guidance from a “professional” that I could get, I was left more in the hole than I was before I started my divorce process. I was actually embarrassed after I got off of the first court date zoom appearance with Alex. He was supposed to be the professional and fight my case. Instead, I felt like I was on a zoom call with a college friend from 15 years ago. He allowed me to get stipulated to a mortgage divination, which after firing and hiring another attorney, turns out I am not liable for because I was never on the mortgage or deed of the house and it was a pre marital purchase. This is only one example of his lack luster and disappointing representation. Not only did I fall behind in my divorce case, but it cost me $4,000 (not a small chunk of change) for absolutely nothing. I was speaking up for myself during the zoom call. I can’t say this for sure, but it seems as though Alex was hired at winter & Duffy by being related to someone higher up in the firm. Please don’t make the same mistake that we did in allowing Alex to help guide me through an already stressful and expensive/drawn out process.”
